Vic Ortiz, M.A.
Senior Consultant |
Victor Ortiz has worked in the field of organization development consulting
and training since 1978. The main focus of his work has been the design and management
of large-scale organizational and work system change efforts. Vics primary
interest is in the development of organizations and work systems that optimize
high quality and productivity while enhancing peoples ability to bring the
best of themselves to work.
With a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology, Vic has worked with clients
in both the private and public sectors. From 1978 through 1981, Vic worked as
a lead consultant for the California Department of Alcohol and Substance Abuse,
providing technical assistance to community agencies. In 1982, he joined Serafini
Associates, doing organization development in high-tech, rapid growth industries.
From 1983 to 1988, Vic was a Managing Partner at Interaction Associates, a San
Francisco-based firm specializing in meeting facilitation and team leadership
skills training, conflict resolution, and the management of collaborative problem
solving processes. From 1988 to 1996, he continued to work in both private practice
and as an independent partner with a variety of consulting and training firms
in client-specific consulting project teams.
Vic brought his broad range of consulting experience to Gelinas James, Inc.
in 1996. He has led strategic planning efforts in organizations as diverse
as
an institutional stock brokerage firm and a Catholic Diocese. He has developed
training packages to support Total Quality Management efforts in manufacturing,
high-tech and service organizations. He has supported organizational redesign
efforts in government agencies, the automotive and health care industries.
Typical
engagements have also involved leadership development and coaching, and the design
and facilitation of complex, multi-party events, including recent work in
the
fields of construction industry partnering, and the formation of strategic alliances
with suppliers. All of these experiences contribute to the depth Vic brings
to
the Collaborative Change methodology developed and used at Gelinas James, Inc.
Vic is also a lead trainer of the Gelinas James workshop, "Consulting Skills:
Bringing Our Authentic Selves Forward."
Recent engagements have included the implementation of a major Collaborative
Change project in a world-wide transportation refrigeration business, implementation
