Dr. Cynthia Scott has over 20 years of experience as a coach
and consultant with a broad range of organizations in the
US and abroad. The quality and depth of Cynthia’s hands-on-experience
have made her the preferred executive development resource
for assisting individuals, teams and organizations adapting
to changes in process, culture, technology and strategy.
She has co-authored nine books (Rekindling Commitment,
Managing Change at Work; Managing Personal Change, Empowerment,
Organizational Mission, Vision and Values; Take This Job and
Love It; Take This Work and Love It; Getting Your Organization
to Change, Self-Renewal). Dr. Scott created assessment
tools Mastering the Change Curve, (HRDQ press
(2003) and Stress Map (1985) and a wide variety
of innovative capability development modules and processes.
Reports of her work have been featured in publications such
as the Wall Street Journal, Business Week,
the Stanford Business School Newsletter,
and Worthwhile Magazine.
She is the former West Regional Change Practice Leader at
Towers Perrin and the founder of Changeworks, a San Francisco-based
organizational consulting firm. She played a leadership role
for the global design team at Deloitte and Touche, which produced
the change management methodology and tools for SAP implementation.
Her book Getting Your Organization to Change contains
the basic architecture and tools that address the underlying
behavioral and organizational changes that work to reduce
resistance and increase engagement.
Ms. Scott’s expertise includes organizational effectiveness,
leadership and management development, cultural transformation,
senior team development, and the strategic planning and implementation
of organizational change.
She has co-developed and facilitated the “Windows in
the Glass Ceiling Workshop” and the year long Executive
Development Program for the Executive Women’s Alliance.
As a coach she is certified in the PDI (managerial and executive
versions), Lominger and Meyers Briggs. She is a licensed Psychologist
in California and has a certificate in Executive Coaching
from the Professional School of Psychology.
Her clients have included Capital One, Blue Shield, Veraz,
Atlas, Benjamin Moore, Charles Schwab, Kaiser Permanente,
AT&T, Intermune, Pioneer Hybrid, Abbot Labs, Bank of America,
Monterey Herald, New England Telephone, Internal Revenue Service,
ITT Hartford, Union Bank, Deloitte & Touche, Estee Lauder,
National Semiconductor, IBM, and other organizations in financial,
healthcare, high technology, and government sectors.
She earned her B.A. in Anthropology, at the University of
California, Berkeley; her M.P.H. in Health Planning and Administration
at the University of Michigan; and her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology
from the Fielding Institute.
